THT GEORGE OAKLEY JAZZ ENSEMBLE

The George Oakley Jazz Ensemble is a sophisticated group that can be as small as a duo or as large as a quintet. We play standards from the great musicals by Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Richard Rogers, Jimmy Van Heusen, George Gershwin and many more. We do bossa novas and sambas by the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Clare Fischer and others . We also do Jazz Classics by Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Duke Elington, John Coltrane and more. The instrumentation for The Duo is Guitar and Woodwinds; to make the larger groups we would add Bass, Drums and a Singer. The Duo and Trio are very versatile and are excellent for small parties in the home or in the garden.
