The George Oakley Ensemble is a fun yet sophisticated group. We play standards from the great American song book. We play songs by Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Richard Rogers, Jimmy Van Heusen, George Gershwin and many more. We do bossa novas and sambas by the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Clare Fischer and others . We also do Jazz Classics by Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Duke Elington, John Coltrane and more. 
The group is usually made up of guitar, woodwinds and double bass, but it  can be adjusted for different size rooms.  It can be as small as a duo and as big as a quintet or bigger. The instrumentation for The Duo is Guitar and Woodwinds. to make a quartet  we would add  drums.  For bigger a bigger group we can add a Singer and another horn . The Duo and Trio are very versatile and are excellent for small parties in the home or in the garden.
